"Charming, distinctive, very pacific northwest"
We stayed in a spacious river view room on Easter weekend. It was peaceful and sparkling clean, but still inviting with dark woods and green details. The balcony overlooking the river was so nice in the evening. We spent most of the day shopping and it was perfect for us to be walking distance to Valley River Center-- ideal. If we'd stayed longer, we might have walked over to the Regal theater to catch a movie one night. On check in, the front desk clerk in bunny ears gave me and my daughter cute Easter eggs with a piece of chocolate inside them- nice touch. We had an excellent room service breakfast (bacon pecan waffles and huevos rancheros-- yum!!) and the in room keurig had 4 k-cups, so I was all set on good coffee from a local roaster. Later, we went to the Easter brunch buffet which was nothing short of spectacular. I'm a professional cook, sometimes a chef, and I was totally blown away by the 20' long dessert buffet and the delicious hot food offerings, especially the salmon with tropical fruit, which stayed perfectly moist and flavorful. Staying here, I had a genuine sense of place. This couldn't have been anywhere but Oregon. This charming hotel has great history and character, and I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. In fact, I'll book it for them so they don't waste the opportunity by staying at some bland, national chain hotel.
"A perfectly enjoyable 'time-out'!"
Tyler changed our room to a river view on the third floor. I know it was off season and midweek, but he made us feel valued. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the river flow and enjoying the moments before sundown.
"Felt Like Home."
My stay really felt like I was at home. Very spacious yet somehow really cozy feeling.
"Excellent Banquet Service."
Just spent an evening in one of the banquet rooms for our company meeting. The service was top notch and the food delicious. The staff was professional, attentive and had sense of humor to boot. Highly recommend for a company gathering or meeting.
"Perfect for the tired traveler."
The hotel was perfect in every way. I will stay here often.Instead of listing every great detail I will simply say it was a perfect stay in every way. I wish all hotels were like this one. The hotel staff is very helpful to the tired traveler and will go out of their way to make you happy.
