Saturday Activity in Eugene, Oregon
Spring has sprung in the Willamette Valley and that means that it is time to get out and enjoy all the fun things that Eugene has to offer. From rafting, to biking, or just enjoying the lush green scenery, there is nothing better than having fun in the sun in Eugene Oregon.
At Valley River Inn, one of our favorite spring traditions is to visit the Saturday Market, which is open each Saturday from April through October. The Saturday Market has been a Eugene staple since 1970, when it was first founded by Lotte Streisinger. Since that time, the market has been a place for locals to connect and sell their unique, handcrafted items. Over its 43 year history, the market has grown significantly and now features over 150 vendors spanning three city blocks.
Visiting the Saturday Market is a great way to experience authentic Eugene culture and makes for a great day trip. With Valley River Inn’s bike rental program you can ride a short distance to the market, where you can sit on the grass and enjoy a Rita’s Burrita, get a henna tattoo, or peruse the amazing organic produce selection. What a great way to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and find handmade Eugene products that can’t be found anywhere else!
