Tour Eugene by Bike

Located on the banks of the Willamette River, Valley River Inn is conveniently located along the Eugene bike path network.  With over 60 miles of bike paths in Eugene, bike tours are a unique way to see Eugene. Here are some of our recommended stops for your bike tour of Eugene:

Owen Memorial Rose Garden:  300 N Jefferson St

  • Located just across the river from the Valley River Inn, this 9 acre garden isone of Eugene’s hidden treasures with over 4,500 roses representing  400 varieties, as well as other ornamental plans. 

Alton Baker Park: 1000 Day Island Rd.

  • Located along the bike path near the hotel it is another great stop for spectacular views of the Willamette River. Designed specifically for bikers it is a great place to stop by or grab a table and take a break.

Shelton-McMurphey House: 303 Willamette Street

  • Built in 1888, this home is an elaborate example of a Queen Anne Victorian Style home.  Located on the south side of Skinner’s Butte, it has become an icon of Old Eugene. The house and its surrounding gardens are now owned by the Lane County Historical Museum.

Skinner’s Butte Park:  199 Cheshire Ave.

  • One of Eugene’s largest and most popular parks, Skinner’s Butte features beautiful grassy settings and a brand new playground.  It is the perfect place to bring a sack lunch and enjoy everything that Eugene has to offer.
