70's Flashback DIY Cocktails

In honor of our 40th Anniversary this month we couldn’t settle on just one signature cocktail for the month, so we created a 1973 throwback menu. This menu created by our signature mixologist at Sweetwaters Lounge features ingredients like Hendricks Gin, Regan's Bitters, and Crème De Cacao.

Harvey Wallbanger- This is the Quintessential 70's cocktail. The name is said to allude to what may happen if enjoying these with a little too much gusto! Crater Lake vodka and orange juice are served over ice and topped with a splash of Galliano.

  • One Oz of Crater Lake Vodka
  • Orange Juice
  • 1/4oz. Galliano

Oregon '73-A play on the champagne cocktail the "French 75", I employ the modern taste of St. Germaine Elderflower Liquor and Hendricks Gin and then mix them with lemon juice and simple sugar. That is then topped with house champagne.

  • 1/2oz. of St. Germaine
  • 1/4oz. Hendricks Gin
  • Dash of Lemon Juice
  • Topped w/ Champagne
  • And a lemon zest

Bronx Abbey- Here again I take liberties with a couple old classics and tweak them to the modern palate. Portland's Aviation gin is shaken together with a little of both sweet and dry vermouth, a dash of Regan’s No. 6 Orange bitters and fresh orange juice. This is then strained into a martini glass and served with a twist.

  • 1 ½ oz. Aviation Gin
  • 1/4oz. of Sweet Dry Vermouth
  • 2oz. Orange Juice
  • 2 dash of Regan’s Bitters

-Shaken and poured into Martini Glass

Pink Squirrel-This drink absolutely screams 70's cocktail party to me. Sweet, desserty, and eye-poppingly bold.  A two to one ratio of Creme de Noyaux and Creme de Cacao gets mixed with cream and either shaken and served up as a martini or blended into a delish frozen treat!

  • 1 ½ oz. Crème De Noyaux
  • 1 oz. of clear crème de coco
  • 1 ½ oz. of Cream

-Shaken and Strained into Martini Glass.

Sloe Gin Fizz-I had to adjust this drink a little as the Sloe is a bit overly sweet for me so it is offset slightly by some standard gin but holds true to the spirit of the original. Sloeberry gin, gin fresh lemon juice and simple sugar are mixed together and topped with soda water. Garnished with a lemon twist.

  • 1 oz. Sloeberry gin
  • 1/2oz. House Gin
  • 1oz of lemon Juice
  • 1oz. simple sugar
  • Top with Soda Water
  • Garnish with Lemon Swirl

Planter's Punch-

A version of the classic "Punch" can never hurt, right? Myers's Dark rum, a dash of Angostura Bitters, orange juice, pineapple juice, and a dash of grenadine are topped with a bit of soda water

  • 1oz. of Myer Dark Rum
  • 2 dashes if Angostura Bitters
  • 2oz. Orange Juice
  • 1oz. Pineapple Juice
  • 1/8oz of grenadine
  • 1/8oz. Soda Water
